entry arrow8:29 PM | A Golden Age of Pinoy Blogging, Gone

There was a golden time when "blogging" meant gems like Dean Francis Alfar's Notes From the Peanuts Gallery, Charles Tan's The Bibliophile Stalker, Gibbs Cadiz's self-named theatre musings, Jun Robles Lana's Kuwan, Marck Ronald Rimorin's The Marocharim Experiment, Robert Alejandro's The Sketching Backpacker, Gabriela Lee's Sometimes Sunlight, John Bengan's Your Headphones, Kenneth G. Yu's Philippine Genre Stories, Lilledeshan Bose's Little Boxes Made of Ticky-tacky, Oggs Cruz's Lessons From the School of Inattention, Visconde Carlo Vergara's The Carver's House, and so many others. Facebook was the disrupter for many, although Butch Dalisay, Jessica Zafra, Yvette Tan, Manolo Quezon, and some others still blog. [I still do, at least four times a month.] Guess what filled the vacuum. To quote a friend, "I do miss those days when 'blogs' meant so much more than the somewhat dirty word it has become now."
