entry arrow5:50 PM | Rengga From the Past

Instant poetry on tissue paper...

One sultry summer night in Hayahay in 2002, drunk with our nth bottle of beer, we (that's Allan Pastrana, Gelo Suarez, Peter Mayshle, Maryanne Moll, Baryon Tensor Posadas, and moi) composed this rengga. Or was it during a lunch break, and we were having pizza and pasta in Shakey's? I forget. In any case, Maryanne Moll just sent me this over email. (Where're Naya Valdellon, Mookie Katigbak, and the others dito sa rengga? Were they sleeping? Eating tempura by the Boulevard? Climbing the fence over to the Silliman Hall grounds?) I like the one we composed about Domeng Landicho, though, hehehe. Even Sirs Jimmy and Krip were amused. Oh, memories.... That was one of the best summer workshops in Dumaguete I've ever attended.
