entry arrow1:17 AM | Between Two Full Moons

An artist-friend, Raszceljan Salvarita, has a theory for why June was such a crazy month. You must have felt it, too -- how slow June was, and how it sweltered with so much heat. People I know -- many of them -- neared toppling over the edge in fits of grand depression. I include myself as one of the casualties. June was paralysis for me, hounded by the subtlest of evil that seeped so deep I did not do anything except stare at nothing, and wait for tears and breaking. One friend eventually committed suicide, leaving behind lovely poetry and a little daughter. June was a depressing month, and much of its negative energy tapered off even until the last days of July.

Raszcel told me a few days ago that he felt it, too. His explanation? “It was all the energy trapped within the two full moons of June,” he said. And I believed that, because there was not much else to disbelieve.
